The Norwegian Marine Technology Research Institute (MARINTEK) with headquarters in Trondheim, Norway performs research and development for companies in the field of marine technology. MARINTEK is a company in the SINTEF Group, one of Europe’s largest independent research institutions. Shipping and the maritime industry is MARINTEK’s traditional market where it amongst others develops and verifies technological solutions, business and operating concepts for the shipping, marine equipment, ocean energy and petroleum industries. Its range of activities covers hydrodynamics and construction technology, maritime ICT and logistics, maintenance technology as well as energy and environmental technology. MARINTEK can draw back on more than 70 years of experience in maritime research and development and has a long tradition in European research cooperation. This builds the base to successfully approach today’s most central challenges in the area of cost and energy efficiency, environment and safety as well as on operation under difficult conditions.
