Hochschule Wismar – Partner in the MUNIN project
The Department of Maritime Studies – part of the faculty of Engineering at Hochschule Wismar – is situated in Rostock-Warnemünde, Germany. It continues the more than 150 years lasting tradition of maritime training in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is today one of the leading maritime training and research institutions in Germany. The Department of Maritime Studies offers courses for ship officers – navigation and ships engine operation – for the highest levels of competencies as captains or chief engineers. The training program includes extensive simulator training in full mission ship handling simulators and is carried out by Professors and lecturers with the highest license on management level, i.e. certified to operate as Master of a ship or Chief Engine Officer respectively. The simulator is also used for further education of ship officers.
