Chalmers University of Technology is a highly progressive university situated in Gothenburg, Sweden known locally and globally for education, research and innovation with a wide range of applications. The Department of Shipping and Marine Technology at Chalmers conducts research and development of the latest technologies for propulsion and navigation of ships. Therefor it can resort to Sweden’s most comprehensive simulator centre for marine transport and navigation. Activities in ship operation and design are complemented with competence within logistics/economy, environmental and human factors. Education and research within the department are aiming to create knowledge and competence to develop shipping to be an integrated part of future safe, efficient and environmental friendly transport systems.
